Tibet's economic performance remained stable in the first three quarters

On October 23, the Economic Performance of Tibet Autonomous Region in the First Three Quarters of 2019 was was released by the Tibet Autonomous Region Bureau of Statistics and the Tibet investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics. Data show that in the first three quarters of this year, Tibet's economic performance was generally stable and people's livelihood was improved. Tibet's GDP reached 115.629 billion yuan RMB, up 8.7%, ranking second in China. The added value of the primary industry reached 8.849 billion yuan RMB, up 3.3%; the added value of the secondary industry reached 46.296 billion yuan RMB, up 11.1%; the added value of the tertiary industry reached 60.484 billion yuan RMB, up 7.7%.

In the first three quarters of this year, the agricultural production increased steadily, and animal husbandry production was generally stable. The total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery was 12.99 billion yuan RMB, up 3.8% year-on-year. Industrial economy continued to increase, and enterprise efficiency was improved ceaselessly. The added value of industries above designated size increased by 6.5% year-on-year. Tourism market continued to develop, and its driving ability was constantly enhanced. A total of 37.1374 million domestic and foreign tourists were received, up 19.7% year on year. Market demand was basically stable, and border trade logistics industry developed strongly. Preliminary statistics show that the total retail sales of consumer goods totaled 46.661 billion yuan RMB, up 6.8% year-on-year. According to the statistics of the customs department, the import and export volume of small-scale foreign trade was 2.026 billion yuan RMB, accounting for 66.2% of the total import and export volume, up 31.8% year on year.

Urban and rural income continued to grow faster than the national average, and the employment situation was improved. The survey showed that the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 28,329 yuan RMB, up 10.6%, 0.1 percentage points higher than the first half of this year and 2.7 percentage points higher than the national growth rate of 7.9%, ranking first in China. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 8,059 yuan RMB, up 12.9%, 0.4 percentage points higher than the first half of this year and 3.7 percentage points higher than the national growth rate of 9.2%, ranking first in China. A total of 44,000 urban jobs were added in Tibet, completing 88% of the annual target. The registered urban unemployment rate was kept within 3%.

Overall, the economy in the first three quarters was stable, and the benefits of development were better shared by all the people. In terms of the growth rate, although the growth rate was slowed down, it still remained at the national leading level.
