Tibet: sports industry’s integrated development

With the enhancement of sports’overall strength in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Tibet regards integrated development as an important path for the development of sports industry, combines sport with various industries such as tourism, culture, agriculture, medical treatment and media, and strives to provide multiple levels and high quality sports supply and service.

On the basis of giving full play to the sports industry's characteristics of high correlation and strong integration, Tibet strengthens exchanges on sports and culture. With the integration of “The Belt and Road" and the construction of the South Asian Gateway as a breakthrough, the region carries out sports events and culture exchanges among countries and regions along the route, and builds an activity system of leisure event and fully demonstrates Tibet's advantages such as ecological human resources, folk culture, sports tourism routes and scenic spots. In addition, Tibet constantly explores excellent tourism resources, makes an experience-based sports tourism project to expand Tibet sports tourism market. Moreover, sports leisure towns are built to achieve integrative development of sports, health, tourism, culture and others.

According to the data of National Development and Reform Commission, national sports industry's added value accounted for more than 1% of GDP in 2018,  solving more than 4.4 million people’s employment; “Sports+” has become a new kinetic energy for China's economic growth, a new guide in improving livelihood, and an accelerator for the development of sports. In recent years, the sports industry in the region has gradually expanded, the sports town of “sports + real estate",  tourism routesof “sports + tourism” and variety products of “sports + entertainment” have been in full swing. The “sports +” quality project has become the most important way to attract capital.
