Pepper planting leads Tibetans to get rid of poverty

With abundant sunlight as well as appropriate water and soil environment, Nang County of Nyingchi City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region is suitable for pepper growth. Therefore, Nang County builds 233 greenhouses and plants 1500 mu pepper.

By holding technical training for pepper planters and supporting the development of pepper processing cooperatives, Nang County leads local people to get rid of poverty and increase incomes. Statistics show that the benefits of Nang County's pepper industry can be 1.165 million yuan per year and the the masses can increase an income of 1400 yuan per capita per year, helping more than 800 impoverished people shake off poverty.
