Tourists invited to experience Tibetan Losar

With the approaching of Tibetan Losar (Tibetan New Year) which falls on this February 25, travel agencies in Tibet are active in organizing travel groups to Tibet with a topic of experiencing Tibetan Losar, a quite different new year of Tibetan people. Till February 10, some 60 travellers have been confirmed to enjoy a Tibetan new year in Tibet.

"We have affirmed three package tours for the coming Tibetan New Year," said Tian Jun, a staff from Tibet Hongshan International Travel Agency, "A group of 16 Cantonese will arrive in Nyingchi on February 23 while a group of 17 Cantonese and a group of 19 Beijingers will arrive in Xigaze respectively on February 25 and 26."

"We have confirmed three small groups and two of the three are formed by some foreigners to tour Gyangze, Xigaze and Mt. Qomolangma while the other one is consisted of ten members from Shenzhen," according to Jianmin, manager of Lhasa Tourism Company .

Departments concerned have contributed a lot to advertise in Beijing by cooperating with some inland travel agencies to introduce the diverse custom of Tibetan Losar.

During the Spring Festival, Lhasa Tourism Company has received 18 groups of 34 tourists from the USA, Germany, UK, Australia, Norway, Singapore, Vietnam and Japan.
