Lhasa's tourism revenue achieved 1.2 bln yuan in 1st quater

Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, received 918,900 tourists from both home and abroad, a year-on-year increase of 38.11 percent. The influx of visitors brought 1.2 billion yuan in tourism revenue, up 29.93 percent. The tourist consumption market booms in Lhasa. 

The accommodation rate of star-grade hotels soared 35 percent. Tourist attractions such as the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple witnessed a double number of visitors   

The number of tourists visiting tourist attractions such as the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple nearly doubled over the last year. The sales of souvenirs is twice as many as that of last year. The total sales of commodities reached 6.66 billion yuan with an increase of 15.3 percent.

During the tomb-sweeping holiday, Lhasa welcomed 284,600 tourists from home and abroad, generating 214 million yuan in tourism revenue. The epic musical Princess Wencheng has been represented on April 20. Only after five days, this opera show has seen 8,531 tourists, a growth of 19.3 percent compared with the same period of last year.

Lhasa has focused on the goal of “developing all-region tourism” since Lhasa was listed on the first national all-region tourism demonstration zones in 2016. With an investment of 26.21 billion yuan, almost 100 tourism projects have been carried out. In addition, a series of excellent tour lines are developed and marketed. There are also some tourism villages with local distinctive features in Lhasa.
