Sales of winter clothes have been rising substantially in Lhasa as Tibet entered winter, with sheepskin coats and Tibetan-style cotton-padded jackets exceptionally popular.
Beijing Road (E) in downtown Lhasa, dotted with clothing shops, was swarmed with consumers. Mannequins dressed in different styles of Tibetan clothes were displayed in the shops.

Nyingma from southwestern Tibet's Xigaze Prefecture tried on a red Tibetan-style clothes. He got to Lhasa specially to buy winter clothes for his family.
"Nowadays Tibetan clothes have a lot of modern designs. They are not only fashionable but can also showcase traditional Tibetan customs and styles," said Dekyi, manager of a clothing company in Lhasa.
"Sheepskin coats sell from 200 yuan (29.3 U.S. dollars) to 800 yuan (117.2 dollars) per item and they can meet the demand of various consumers."
