Winter scenery of Lhalu Wetland in Lhasa

With an elevation of 3600 meters and a total area of nearly 13 square kilometers, Lhalu Wetland is located on the edge of Lhasa City and it is national nature reserve. It plays an important role in conserving water, supplementing oxygen, and absorbing carbon dioxide. Therefore, it is renowned as “the lung of Lhasa”. In the nature reserve, there are more than 20 kinds of birds that habitat here throughout the year. In winter, dozens of migratory birds including bar-headed goose,tadorna ferruginea, and wild duck will come here to live through the winter.
