Tibet pays attention to environmental protection

Tibet is important national ecological security barrier and it is also important gene pool of biodiversity.

By the end of 2016, there are 47 natural reserves in Tibet. Among which, there are 10 national level natural reserves, 13 autonomous regional level natural reserves and 24 city (prefecture, county, district) level natural reserves. The total area of all natural reserves in Tibet is 412200 square kilometers, accounting for 34.35% of Tibet's total area.
