As a highlight of Tibetan traditional handicraft industry,Tibetan dance shoes are on hot sale since June, the peak season to order for the Shoton Festival( Sour Milk Drinking Festival)which falls on August 20th, 2009.Besides, the Fourth International Semi-journey Marathon Challenge, traditional equestrian athletics, and commodity fairs will be held during the Shoton Festival.

Recent years, handicraft industry in T.A.R has been developed as a new highlight into domestic and abroad market. Amid these colorful handicraft products, Pulhu (one kind of Tibetan traditional woolen textiles) and Tibetan sword are topping the entire list, helping local peoples to be richer. InLhatseCounty, Shikatse prefecture, local resident Dawha’s family has earned over 40,000 yuan RMB trough handicraft business.

The handicraft industry of Tibet has a long history. The Tibetan handicrafts are not only highly practical, but they also have great aesthetic value. Nowadays, more and more tourists in Tibet tend to lay eyes on these Tibetan favorites. The textiles, paintings and sculptures represent the highest achievements of Tibetan handicrafts.
