Lhasa steps up garbage classification

Garbage classification is one of the most effective means to protect the environment and reduce the waste of resources, and also related to the civilization and image of a city. Since implementing the garbage classification, Lhasa City, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region has taken multiple measures to actively carry out the publicity of garbage classification, mobilized citizens to participate in the garbage classification, and popularized the knowledge of garbage classification, so as to create a good publicity atmosphere.

This year, Lhasa city has added pilot area for garbage classification. Garbage classification points exchange supermarkets in Tongjian Community of Karma Kunsang Sub-district Office and Pargor Mall have been built and put into use, which has brought the garbage classification work to a new level. Citizens' consumable points gained through garbage classification exchanging can be used to exchange daily necessities, such as laundry detergent, toothpaste, soap and so on, which greatly improves citizens' enthusiasm to participate in the garbage classification.
