| Photo exhibition on Tibet's past and present, which wins wide applause in previous displays around the country, was launched in Shanghai Library on October 7. The exhibition will continue for six days free of charge for all visitors. With about 200 pictures, the exhibition tells the history and present condition of Tibet, reproducing historical great events like the peaceful liberation of Tibet and the democratic reform, especially remarkable achievements the region has gained in economy, culture, society and living standard after the reform and opening-up policy. It was divided into eight parts: Tibet is historically a part of China, the feudal serfdom of old Tibet, the peaceful liberation and democratic reform, the founding of Tibet Autonomous Region, human rights, culture and religion, social & economic development and happy life of all nationalities.. The exhibition was sponsored by the Shanghai United Front Work Department, Shanghai Branch of Xinhua News Agency and undertaken by the China Eastern and Shanghai Mobile. |
